Innistrad - Spoils for the Spoiled

In usual fashion, I am posting some more of the Innistrad spoils that catch my eye.  We are past the half-way mark for the new set, and therefore have seen most of the stuff that is going ot be available.  With that said, I am supremely impressed.  The cards I have below are all top notch (IMHO) so lets get right to it!

Creeping Renaissance
Creeping Renaissance

A baby Praetor's Counsel, Creeping Renaissance is an amazing replacement to Restock and Nostalgic Dreams.  While it lacks in versatility, it makes up for it by pure raw potential.  The Flashback part is ok, not super impressed, but at least it is Green as well, making this card an instant staple for Green Commander decks.  Definitely awesome!

Geist-Honored monk
Geist-Honored Monk

White does not get a lot of variably-powered Creatures, since most of their dudes are straight up Human (or some other type of benevolent society); the color is also based on the concepts of Law and Order - a */* Creature is neither.

Not only is she */*, she gets her power from a mass of Creatures, and what color is better than White at producing an army of lil' guys?  None.  She is a 3/3 for 5 right off the bat, and will easily get larger.  Another amazing card!

Nevermore
Nevermore

Another White card that caught my eye was Nevermore.  It is amazing in its simplicity, and will push the already uber-powerful combo of UW Control over the edge.  When it comes to EDH, it is recurrable with Sun Titan, and blinkable with Venser, the Sojourner.  Name the opponent's general - win the game.

This will slide perfectly into my Celestial Kirin Stax deck, as well as my Ghave Enchanted Control.  Really great card all around!

Heartless Summoning
Heartless Summoning

I can see Heartless Summoning in a UB Control deck - a fourth turn Grave Titan will be a tough cookie to deal with, as will a Consecrated Sphinx or Wurmcoil Engine.  It will put all of the cards into Dismember territory, however, so it may not become all that popular.

In EDH, the card screams for a nice aggro Zombie deck, probably with Korlash as general (the -1/-1 will only be consequential in an Armageddon situation, and hes pretty much dead anyways.)  The new Legend, Grimgrin, will make a great general for this deck as well, especially with the Rooftop Storm.

Zombies are makinga come back.  Take that, you over-dramatic Vampire wussies!

Charmbreaker Devils
Charmbreaker Devils

Wow.  This is a card that was built for EDH - the 6 CMC is high for a 4/4, and the random element of his ability makes him less than tournament worth - but in those EDH, oh boy is it cool.  Off the top of my head, recurring a Gamble everyturn would be an amazing boon to any Red deck.  In a UR deck, imagine someone hating their own graveyard so there is nothing but a Time Warp in it.  Good Game.

I really think this card will shine in a Chaos build, though.  I have a friend who runs an Adamaro as a major hoser/Chaos deck, and I cringe at the thought of a recurring Warp World.

Geis of Saint Traft
Geist of Saint Traft

Geist is an interesting card - its small, hard to kill, but hits really hard, sort of.  I think the ability will go best with a sac outlet, like a Helm of Possession, so you can make use of the tokens before they go into exile.  A Reconnaisance or Dolmen Gate will protect the Geist if he needs to attack into ground forces to get that 4/4 damage in the sky.

I like this guy because he is one of the few aggressive choices UW has for generals.  Everything else is super efficient control, Like Gwafa or Augustine IV, so its refreshing to see a new option opened for Commander'ers.

Splinterfright
Splinterfright

The last, and certianly not least, of the new spoils is the Splinterfright.  This thing is a Lhurgoyf on crack, and in a Creatured out Green deck, which is extremely easy to do in any format, this guy could really rock the table.  I think he will be good with Mindshrieker in Standard, and fit right into a nice Dredge deck in EDH or Modern.

I think this guy will end up being a money card - let's face it, the second ability is barely a set back - and I think Innistrad is really geared for a Dredge/Reanimate style deck (not like WotC didn't tell us that months ago, but still!)

There are a few more top notch cards that have been spoiled, but don't have English pictures available, so sit tight as I bring some more spoils for you spoiled players!
