If you are like me, you love your spoilers and you love spoiled Legends even more. The set is barely revealed and already we have a few cards with great potential as a general.
First -
So sweet!
The combination of Blue and Black has a great amount of synergy, though the Blue Black Generals never really seem to be all that cool to me. Off the top of my head, Circu suffers from the singleton nature of the format, and Dralnu is cool, but is gimmicky and dies to Grave hate (which is rampant in my Metas. Bojuka Bog i'll do it.) Sygg is very good, but is the obvious choice and I already have an Edric deck.
Grimgrin will be super fun to play. I know from my experiences with Ghave that a general with a sac outlet is always amazing, and this guys is especially so. You would have to run pretty creature heavy, but to be fair, nothing but a Split Second removal will stop a sac response.
Finally, he is a Zombie in a set with an Enchantment that makes Zombies free. Sounds good, lets draft (and hope I don't have to draft the Transform cards.)
Second -
She is the real star of the spoilers so far, at least when it comes to Legends. Her power level is almost unreal - Imagine Memnarch if he had Tolarian Academy in the deck! Tutor up some Cabal Coffers jank and steal away.
She gels with other Vampire cards that have been printed in recent years, like Captivating Vampire for instance. I smell a Vampire Tribal brewing. Putting it on simmer til the rest of Innistrad is spoiled though.
Finally, I'd like to mention how subtle a general she will make compared to the others of Rakdos color. Rakdos, Bladewing, Malfegor, and Kaervek are all pricey generals with blatant, if brutal, abilities.
So far, Olivia is in the running for my next Standard Commander deck. The Thada Adel deck is so strong that I am definitely going to do that schtick again.
